What is this vaccine?
This vaccine protects against different influenza (flu) viruses. It is usually given by injection (shot) or as a spray up your nose. The flu virus changes every year, so it is important to get the vaccine at the start of flu season in September or October.
Who needs this vaccine?
Everyone ages 6 months and older, once per year. The first time a child between the ages of 6 months and 8 years gets a flu vaccine, they will need a second flu vaccine one month later.
