This convenient step-by-step Action Plan will help you get the most out of your health plan. It outlines key services to schedule, tips to access care quickly, how to get extra support and discounts you may be missing.
Step 1
Select or review your primary care provider (PCP). Though having a PCP is not required, here are a few benefits of using a PCP:
- Consistent care and familiarity
- A health care home to coordinate all the care you receive
- Stay ahead of health concerns by knowing what preventive and follow-up care to receive
- You can switch your primary care provider at any time.
Step 2
EHP has two provider networks: the EHP network and the Cigna network. Members of all EHP plans, living within or outside of Maryland, can use either network. The EHP network is Maryland-based. The Cigna network features providers throughout the U.S.
The EHP network also features Preferred Providers and Select Pediatric Providers in Florida.

Tip: Avoid coverage hassles when seeing a provider in the Cigna network for the first time. Let them know that EHP uses the Cigna network, so if they accept Cigna, they are in-network for EHP.
Step 3
Annual Well-Visit — Your no-cost yearly well-visits are a chance for your primary care provider to get to know you, identify preventive health screenings you may be due to have and create a care plan for the year.
Annual Eye Exam — Take advantage of your annual no-cost routine eye exam from a SuperiorVision provider, which includes refractions and most written lens prescriptions. You also get an allowance for frames, plus discounts for certain non-covered services and materials. Schedule 12 months after your last visit.

Dental Exam — If your plan includes dental benefits, you get a no-cost yearly dental exam and cleaning, including X-rays and sealants, with a Delta Dental provider! Schedule your appointment every 12 months.
Money-Saver! The ClearCost Health medical cost estimator shows the cost of a particular service at different facilities. Before you schedule an appointment or a procedure, compare the costs before you go.
Step 4
Our pharmacy network includes over 64,000 pharmacies nationwide. The network includes most chain retailers and independent pharmacies. If you use an out-of-network pharmacy, find a convenient pharmacy and transfer your prescriptions.
Try Mail Order! Save the time and hassle of getting your prescriptions by signing up for mail order with CVS Caremark Mail Service. Mail order also helps members avoid running out of medication.
Your coverage — Find your medications on our Advanced Formulary to know what your cost share is and whether they have any authorizations or other requirements.
Cut the Cost of Specialty Medications. EHP members who are taking a specialty medication can enroll in PrudentRx and enjoy a $0 cost-share for their specialty medications.
Did you know? If you have diabetes or asthma, you may be eligible for the No-Pay Copay Benefit. Participate in Care Management and EHP will waive the copay for most asthma and diabetes medications.
Step 5
When you need instant care anywhere for minor but urgent health concerns, use the EHP 24/7 telehealth platform to have a convenient video chat with a health professional using your phone or computer anytime, anywhere — no appointment needed! These visits are a $0 copay.
Step 6
Our behavioral health care team can assist you with care coordination for substance abuse challenges, struggles with depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions. We offer compassionate guidance and useful resources to support your mental well-being journey.
UpLift — Taking the first step to better mental health is not always easy. UpLift is a virtual behavioral health network that can help make that first step easier. Search for care tailored to your needs and schedule timely appointments — often as soon as one day and no later than two weeks.

Enjoy health care at your speed 24/7 and start taking charge of health care decisions. Create an account and log on anytime to view Explanation of Benefits, manage personal information, check the status of a claim, choose a primary care provider and much more.
